Home Decoration trends this year
Each new year brings with it a series of novelties and design trends that define and give consistency to the visual aesthetics of the coming months. Some trends were already latent last year , entering strongly in 2020; others are totally new and revolutionary, creating unexpected interiors and unusual uses for decorative objects.
Hot metals
The metals gold and copper were already hitting hard in previous years and this year will undoubtedly be one of the most marked trends in decoration.
Hexagonal geometry
Geometric designs in general, and hexagonal in particular, are repeated on carpets, textiles, stackable shelves, decorative elements and even on bathroom tiles .
Suspended elements Bedside
tables and desks are kept clear thanks to the incorporation of suspended lamps. Kitchen spotlights are replaced by rows of small pendant lamps that bring the light closer to the countertop or hang over dining tables . Even plants rise in vertical gardens and macrame pots.
Leather Handles
Leather, traditionally used as upholstery, now has a new use as pulls for closet doors and drawers , replacing traditional metal handles .
Variety of faucet finishes
Kitchen and bathroom faucets are no longer limited to the old classic chrome finish. Gold and copper, and even matt black metal, are the latest in faucets.
Dark colored
walls The walls of bedrooms or rest areas begin to be painted in dark green, blue or marengo colors to reduce the light intensity and achieve intimate and cozy environments that invite you to rest .
Decorative Cement Objects
Polished concrete began to be a popular choice for floors, then it was also incorporated into walls and countertops in bathrooms and kitchens. Now it also comes to decorative objects combined with natural materials such as wood, marble or gold or copper metals.
Handmade textiles
Traditional weaving techniques are back in fashion; knitting, crochet and even macramé add a nostalgic note to homes with vintage or eclectic touches.
